Free back-To-School Vision Screening – 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Kiwanis Hall, 1634 Woodford Ave., Fort Myers. The
Kiwanis Club of Fort Myers-Edison, in conjunction with Dr. Bruce Senior, will be doing free back-to-school vision screenings children entering grades 1-5. The vision screenings will be open to the first 200 children with a parent or guardian. No identification will be required, and no personal information will be taken. Fathoms Friday Feeding Frenzy – 6-9 p.m. Aug. 7 and 14. Fathoms Restaurant & Bar, 5785 Cape Harbour Drive, Cape Coral. Sign-Up Campaign for Family Gardens – 8:30 a.m.

For the month of August, Family Gardens, a new community garden in south Fort Myers, is accepting applications for garden bed rental. The beds are about 4 feet by 8 feet with an optional automatic watering capability. Beds are available for a 9-month or 12-month rental. See uugardens.org for details and online applications.
