Home prices continue to rise in Florida, nationally

Home prices in October rose by 6.3 percent nationally compared to one year ago, the largest increase since 2006.
The data was released Tuesday by Core Logic Inc., which also noted an 8.2 percent rise in the North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota area, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune said. Prices in that region also rose by 3.2 percent compared to September, according to the Core Logic data.
The news was good almost everywhere. Prices in October rose in 45 states and 83 out of the top 100 metro areas. Across Florida, prices rose by 7.3 percent, the Herald-Tribune said.
